Job & Schedule Settings
Account-wide defaults for job creation, proposals, tasks, and the calendar.
Three settings pages control how new work behaves before anyone touches it: Jobs (creation defaults and proposal behavior), Tasks (task automation), and Schedule (calendar and scheduling defaults). All three live in the Setup group of the Settings rail. Set these once and every new lead, proposal, and visit starts out right.
Jobs settings
Settings → Jobs configures job-level defaults and creation behavior. The highlights:
- Default Job Name — the initial job name when creating new leads and proposals. Choose from Visit Location, Client Billing Name, Company Name, Client Name, or None (manual). Naming by visit location keeps a multi-property client's jobs distinguishable at a glance.
- Days before a proposal expires — proposals auto-reject this many days after being sent; leave blank for no expiry.
- Require clients to sign to accept proposals — when on, clients add a signature to accept; when off, they accept with a click confirming your Terms & Conditions. A companion toggle, Require a typed signature, makes clients type their name instead of drawing it. See Proposal acceptance.
- Complete-and-Approve — collapses completing and approving into one step: the bulk action and per-job button become Complete & Approve for users holding both permissions. See Complete and approve.
- Lead and task automation — Create a task with new leads auto-creates a follow-up task on every new lead; Make the new-lead task an on-site visit defaults it to an on-site estimate; Default Lead Task Name titles it; Assign new tasks to their creator and Assign tasks to the last job created control task auto-assignment.
- Invoicing defaults — Invoice lead days generates scheduled invoices that many days ahead of the billing anchor date, and Default invoice date to today dates new invoices on the day they are generated.
- Tax defaults — Default Tax Location applies to new jobs without one, and Require tax location on job entry blocks saving a job with neither a tax location nor tax-exempt status. See Sales tax.
Tasks settings
Settings → Tasks holds task behavior that spans the account — currently whether tasks can be assigned to purchase orders (Allow assigning tasks to Purchase Orders) and whether a task is created automatically with each new purchase order.
Schedule settings
Settings → Schedule shapes every scheduling surface:
- Default visit length (minutes) and Default task length (minutes) — durations for new visits, and for tasks created by clicking an empty Route Planner slot. Both must be multiples of 15, between 15 and 480.
- My Day starts at / ends at — the time range shown on the My Day and Route Planner grids.
- Calendar day starts at / ends at — the range drawn on the Calendar's Day and Week grids; events outside it still appear, the grid just widens.
- Default calendar view — Day, Week, Month, or Agenda.
- Rescheduling work week — the days included when using Batch reschedule.
- Show estimated time on My Day — shows expected labor hours on each stop, divided across the clocked-in crew; Hide scheduled time on My Day hides start/end clock times so crews work the list, not the clock.
- Show days since last visit on Route Planner — replaces item-based pins with day counts.
- Resource Day-view column size (hours) — how many hours each column spans on the resource day view.
