Client Page Tour
A guided tour of a client's detail page: header actions, balances, and the tabs for contacts, locations, jobs, invoices, payment methods, and activity.
A client's detail page is the hub for everything about that customer. Open any client from the Clients page to see their profile, outstanding balance, work history, and a full audit trail — plus quick actions to start new work or send a message.
The header
The top of the page shows the client's name with:
- A status badge — Active, On hold, or Inactive (plus Archived when applicable). See Client and job holds.
- A notice icon and banner — if the client has an internal notice, its severity icon appears next to the name and the notice text shows as a banner. You can dismiss the banner for your current session; it comes back next time.
- The client's sales rep avatar.
Depending on your permissions and account features, the header also offers:
- Edit — open the full client form.
- Add — start work for this client: + Add Lead, + Add Proposal, + Add Active Job, or Use Template to start from a job template As Proposal or As Active Job.
- Roll Up Invoices — combine several jobs' billing into one invoice. See Roll-up invoices.
- Message — send the client an Email or Text Message.
- Comm History — open the communication history flyout. See Communication history.
- A Tree Map button, if your account uses Tree Inventory.
- An actions menu with Add comment, Add contact, Add location, Put on hold / Take off hold, Archive / Unarchive, and Merge into another client….
On a phone, a bottom action bar gives you Edit, Comment, and More.
Overview tab
The landing tab summarizes the record:
- Accounts Receivable — the client's Outstanding balance, how many open invoices make it up, and how much is Past due. (Visible only to roles that can see pricing.)
- Identity, Contact methods, and Billing address — the core profile at a glance.
- Categorization — customer type, default operation, and tags.
- Stats — counts of contacts and locations, and how long they've been a client.
Contacts and Locations tabs
- Contacts — every person on the account, with cards showing their details, Primary badge, and Portal access badge. Add, edit, delete, or Set as primary from here. See Add clients and contacts.
- Locations — the billing address and all visit locations. See Locations.
Jobs tab
All of the client's work — leads, proposals, and active jobs — with stage, hold status, and quick links into each job. The Add menu here creates new work already attached to this client.
Billing Schedules and Invoices tabs
These tabs appear for roles that can view invoices:
- Billing Schedules — the client's recurring billing arrangements. See Billing schedules.
- Invoices — every invoice for this client, with a Roll Up Invoices action when the feature is enabled.
Payment Methods tab
Cards and bank accounts (ACH) on file for the client, with each method's default and autopay status. From here you can add a payment method or send the client a secure setup link to add one themselves. See Stored payment methods and Autopay.
Note: Adding payment methods requires your online payments gateway to be connected first — see Get paid online.
Activity tab
A running feed of everything that happened on the record: field-level changes ("changed Email from X to Y"), created and deleted contacts, phones, locations, tags, merges — plus internal comments. Filter it to All, Comments only, or Changes only, post a comment with Post comment, and use Load more to page back through history. Comments are internal and never appear on client-facing documents.
