Communication History
See every email, text message, and internal comment for a client in one chronological flyout.
Before you call a client back, it helps to know what they've already been sent and what your teammates have noted. The Comm History flyout gathers every logged email, text message, and internal comment for a client into one chronological view — so nobody has to dig through their inbox to reconstruct the conversation.
Open communication history
Click Comm History in the top-right of a client's detail page. The flyout opens as Communication History for that client.
The same flyout is available where you're most likely to need it mid-task:
- On the Jobs list and on a job's detail page.
- On the Invoices list and on an invoice's detail page.
Wherever you open it, it shows the full history for the client behind that job or invoice.
Note: Viewing communication history requires the communication-read permission; the button is hidden without it.
The Activity tab
The Activity tab merges three kinds of entries into one timeline, newest first:
- Emails — each outbound email with its delivery status (Sent, Delivered, Opened, Bounced, and so on).
- Text messages — each outbound SMS with its status.
- Comments — internal notes your team posted.
Long histories are truncated to the most recent entries; click Load older to page further back.
The Comments tab
The Comments tab shows just the internal comments, where you can add a new one, and Edit or Delete your own. Comments are internal only — they never appear on proposals, invoices, or anything else the client sees.
Comments posted here are the same comments that appear on the client's Activity tab, so notes travel with the client no matter where your team reads them.
Sending messages
Communication history is the record; sending happens from the Message button next to it, which offers Email and Text Message (when SMS is enabled for your account). See Sending emails and Text messaging.
Auditing at scale
For account-wide auditing — filtering all outbound email by status, template, or date range, and exporting to CSV — use the Customer Communication report under Reports, which also has a Text Messages view.
