Locations

Give each client a billing address and as many visit locations as you service.

A client can have more addresses than just the one on the invoice. A property manager might have you servicing a dozen sites; a homeowner might own a rental across town. BranchSite separates the two roles: one Billing address (where invoices go) and any number of Visit locations (where the work happens).

Billing address vs. visit locations

  • Billing address — the address printed on invoices and other documents. Each client has exactly one, and it's marked with a Billing badge on the Locations tab.
  • Visit location — a service address. When you create a job for the client, you pick which visit location the work happens at, and that address flows to the schedule, work orders, the Route Planner, and maps.

Add a location

  1. Open the client and switch to the Locations tab.
  2. Click Add location.
  3. Enter the address, an optional Location label (like a site name), and Notes.
  4. Click Add location to save.

You can also manage locations in bulk from the client's Edit form, in the Visit locations section — use Add location and Remove location there.

Manage locations

Each location card on the Locations tab has its own actions:

  • Edit — change the address, label, or notes.
  • Set as billing — make this location the client's billing address.
  • Delete — remove the location. You can't delete the billing address directly; set another location as billing first.
  • Open in Maps — open the address in Google Maps in a new tab.

How locations are used on jobs

When you create a job, the job form's Visit location picker lists the client's visit locations — pick the client first, then the location. If the client has no visit locations yet, the picker tells you to add one on the client's detail page.

BranchSite geocodes location addresses so visits can appear on the Route Planner map and other map views. If a visit warns that its address isn't geocoded yet, open the location on the client's Locations tab and review the address.

Note: When you merge two clients, the losing client's visit locations transfer to the surviving client, but its billing address is discarded — the survivor keeps its own.
