Roll-Up Invoices
Hand-pick two or more of a client's invoices and combine them into a single roll-up invoice.
A roll-up combines several of one client's existing invoices into a single invoice, so the client gets one bill and makes one payment. Use it for ad-hoc consolidation — a client with three separate jobs this month who wants one statement. For consolidation that should happen automatically every period, set up combined billing instead.
Turn roll-ups on
Roll-ups are off by default. An admin turns on the Roll-Up Invoices toggle on the Features page in Settings. Creating roll-ups also requires invoice write permission.
Create a roll-up
- Open the client's detail page and go to their Invoices tab.
- Select two or more eligible invoices, then click Roll Up Invoices.
- In the dialog, give it a Roll-up name (for example,
June roll-up), set the Invoice date, and pick the Operation and Term. - Confirm the selection under Eligible invoices and click Create roll-up.
All invoices in a roll-up must share the same tax location and exemption status — the dialog blocks mixed selections so the combined tax calculation stays correct.
What happens to the member invoices
The roll-up becomes the live invoice: it carries the members' line items grouped by source invoice, and you send it, track it, and take payments on it. The member invoices stop counting toward accounts receivable — each one shows a banner pointing to the roll-up, and payments and sends are managed there.
Edit or undo a roll-up
On the roll-up's detail page:
- Edit Roll-Up — update its details or add and remove member invoices.
- Un-roll — dissolve the roll-up and restore its member invoices to accounts receivable. This cannot be undone, and a roll-up holding payments must have them refunded first.
