Using Reports
Filter, customize, export, and save any report — the controls are the same everywhere.
Every report in BranchSite is built on the same chassis. Once you know how to filter one report, pick its columns, and save it, you know how to use them all. This article covers those shared controls; the rest of this section describes what each individual report answers.
Open a report
Click Reports in the sidebar. The Report Catalog lists every report as a card, grouped by category — Sales & Payments, Items, Labor, Expenses & Job Costing, and more — with your Saved Reports at the top. Click a card to open the report, or jump straight to a specific report from the sidebar's Reports group.
Filter a report
The most-used filters — usually Date Range, Date Filter, Operation, Client, and Assignees — sit directly in the toolbar above the table. The rest live behind a Filters button that opens a side panel; the button shows a count when filters in the panel are active. Changes apply as you make them, and active filters appear as chips you can clear individually. Reset puts everything back to the report's defaults.
Filters worth knowing:
- Date Range — presets like Today, Last 7 Days, This Month, Year to Date, or a Custom Range.
- Date Filter — which date the range applies to. Many reports offer several axes: Created Date, Scheduled Date, Completed Date, Invoice Date, Proposal Date, and more. "Jobs completed last month" and "jobs created last month" are different questions — this picker is how you choose.
- Stages — limit job-based reports to Lead, Proposal, Active, Completed, or Approved, with quick All/None toggles.
- Include Tags / Exclude Tags — match jobs (or client tags) any-or-all.
- Job type pills — one-click toggles such as Recurring, One-Off, On Hold, or Requires Deposit.
- Custom Inputs — on reports that support it, filter by the values of your own custom input fields (pick the Resource, the input, and a Value, then click Add).
Reports that support text search also show a Search this report box in the toolbar.
If you always want a report opened a certain way, set your filters and choose Save as my default filters from the Filter defaults menu. That default is yours alone; Clear my default filters removes it.
Choose and arrange columns
Click Columns to open the columns picker. Search with Search columns… and check or uncheck columns to show or hide them. Drag column headers in the table to reorder them. Users with report-management rights also see Save for All Users, which makes the current column set the default for everyone on the account.
Note: Financial columns are permission-gated. If your role lacks the relevant financial permission, columns like costs, prices, or margins simply do not appear — not in the table, the columns picker, or CSV exports. This mirrors what you can see elsewhere in the app.
Page through results and read totals
Use the Show entries selector (10, 25, 50, or 100 rows) and the pager at the bottom to move through results. Most reports also render a Total and an Average row in the footer for numeric columns.
Export to CSV
Click Export CSV. Where the report offers options, choose Export visible columns (just what is on screen) or Export with all columns. Very large exports ask you to confirm first, and exports beyond 50,000 rows are blocked — narrow your filters and try again.
Save a report
A Saved Report remembers a report's filters and column layout so you can reopen the same view in one click.
- Set up the filters and columns you want.
- Click Save Report.
- Give it a Report Name (for example,
Sean's Sales). - If your filters use a date preset, you can check Save with Dynamic Date Range — the saved report then rolls forward each day (a "Last 30 Days" report always means the last 30 days, not the 30 days when you saved it).
- Click Save Report.
Saved reports appear at the top of the Report Catalog and on the Saved Reports page, and are shared with the account's admins. Open one, adjust it, and click Update Report to overwrite it, or Remove Saved Report to delete it for everyone.
On some plans, select reports can also snapshot their data into Summary Data for Business Insights — an Excel-style pivot view with configurable rows, columns, and values, plus Export CSV/Export Excel — when you save them with Create Summary Data snapshot checked.
