Templates for Proposals

Stamp out proposals from saved job templates, and whole proposal groups from group templates.

If you sell the same programs again and again — a 5-round turf plan, an annual PHC package — templates let you build the proposal once and stamp it out in seconds. Two kinds matter here: Job Templates create a single proposal or active job, and Group Templates bundle several job templates into a whole proposal group.

Both live under Setup → Templates in the sidebar, alongside your document, email, and text message templates.

Job Templates

A job template captures every job field except the customer and the visit location: operation, notes for each audience, the full estimate (items, groups, pricing, proposal levels), discount, recurrence, invoicing settings, tags, document template choices, and extras like a default assignee.

To build one, open Setup → Templates → Job Templates and click + New Job Template. The builder walks through Identity, Recurrence, Estimate Editor, Discount, Invoicing, Tags, Document Settings, and Additional Options. The list page supports search, an operation filter, and per-template actions to Edit, Clone, Archive, Restore, or Delete.

Note: A template that jobs or group templates reference can't be deleted — archive it instead. Archiving hides it from the pickers while existing jobs keep their provenance link.

Use a job template

  • New work — on the Jobs page, click Use template. The modal lists your templates in two sections: Create proposal and Create active job. Pick one, then choose the client and visit location on the pre-filled form.
  • Convert a lead — on a lead, choose Convert via Template and pick a template under Convert to Proposal (or Convert to Active Job). If the lead already has line items, groups, tags, or schedules, BranchSite warns you before replacing that content with the template's.
  • From a client — on a client's Jobs tab, Use Template starts templated work with the client pre-filled.

Jobs created this way show a From template chip linking back to their source.

Group Templates

A group template bundles several job templates into one preset so a multi-service proposal can be created in a single step. Build them under Setup → Templates → Group Templates: name the template and click + Add job templates to pick the members.

To use one, go to the Proposal Groups page and click Use Template. Pick the template, the Client, and the Visit location, optionally override the group name, and click Create group. Every member job is stamped out and bundled into a new draft group, ready to review and send. See Proposal groups.

Tips

  • Build one template per service program, and keep the estimate's Recommended / Optional proposal levels in the template so every proposal carries your standard upsells.
  • Client-facing notes in a template are seeded into every job created from it and shown on the proposal and invoice — write them for the customer, not the crew.
