Tree Map
Where tree pins appear: the editable job map, the read-only client map, and the map your clients can open from a proposal.
Every tree is a numbered pin at its real spot on the property. The same inventory shows up in three places: the job map where your team edits it, a read-only map on the client's page for quick reference, and a client-facing map attached to proposals.
The job map (edit here)
Open a job and switch to its Map tab to reach the Tree Inventory Map. The map centers on the job's service location — BranchSite geocodes the location's address — and shows:
- Trees — numbered pins in each tree's Mark Color. Click a pin to open the tree's detail drawer; the Trees on this Property list in the drawer mirrors the pins.
- General Markers — a separate tab for non-tree markers on the property.
- Find Me — centers the map on your current position, useful when walking a property on a phone.
This is the only place trees are added or moved — see Add and manage trees. Use Save and Return to Job to save your work and go back to the job.
Note: If your account also has Site Measurements enabled, the same map carries a drawing toolbar for points, polygons, and polylines — area and distance markups that are separate from the tree inventory.
The client map (read-only)
On a client's detail page, the Tree Map button in the header opens a read-only map that aggregates every tree across all of that client's locations. A Location filter narrows it to one property (All locations is the default), and a Read-only badge makes clear nothing can be edited here. It exists so office staff can answer "which oak was that?" on a phone call without opening a job.
If a property has no trees yet, the list says "No trees recorded for this property yet." And if the map itself can't load, the tree list remains available.
The map your clients see
Trees can appear on customer-facing documents too:
- Proposal and work order PDFs can include a snapshot image of the property map with its tree pins, so the client sees exactly which trees the work covers.
- On the online proposal acceptance page, a View Tree Map button opens an interactive read-only tree map for the proposal. The link is tied to the proposal: it expires with the proposal link, and it stops working if the proposal is declined or the feature is turned off.
