Create Work from the Map
Lasso pins into a route in one motion, add a task from a lane, and generate recurring visits without leaving the planner.
The Route Planner isn't just for arranging work that already exists — you can turn a cluster of map pins into a finished route in one motion, spin up a new task directly from a driver's lane, and generate the next batch of recurring visits without leaving the page.
Build a route with the lasso
The lasso is the fastest way to route a neighborhood: draw a shape around the pins, pick a driver, done.
- Click the lasso button in the top bar to enable lasso mode. A shape picker appears: Rectangle or Polygon.
- Draw your selection. With Rectangle, drag a box on the map. With Polygon, click to add vertices, click the first vertex (or press Enter) to close the shape, or press Esc to cancel.
- The Selection panel in the map's corner shows what you caught — for example "In selection: 8 visit(s), 2 task(s)".
- Click Add drivers. In the Create route from selection dialog, pick one driver to schedule the selected pins onto.
- Optionally tick Optimize the route after creating it to order the stops efficiently right away.
- Click Create route.
The whole selection commits at once — either every pin lands on the route or none do. If some pins can't be added (for example, work without a schedulable status), the dialog tells you why.
Create a task from a lane
Spot a gap in a driver's day? Click an empty time slot on that driver's lane. The new-task form opens pre-filled with the driver, the date, and a start and end time based on where you clicked and your default task length. Fill in the rest and save — the task lands on that driver's schedule. See Schedule visits and tasks.
Generate recurring visits
The top bar's tools cluster includes Generate Visits, the same tool found on the Calendar. Use it to materialize the next round of visits from your recurring jobs; once generated, they appear in the unscheduled list and on the map, ready to route. If a driver's routes have been memorized with Memorize Route, newly generated visits for those stops arrive pre-routed onto that driver's lane in the saved order. See Recurring visits.
Note: The Generate Visits button appears only if your role has permission to generate visits.
What you can't create here
New leads and proposals aren't created from the Route Planner — visits on jobs still in the Lead or Proposal stage can't be scheduled onto a route at all. Draft the work first in Leads & Proposals, win it, and its visits will show up in the unscheduled list.
