Financing

Offer consumer financing options on your proposals so clients can say yes to bigger jobs.

Financing lets clients spread the cost of a large job over time through a consumer financing provider you've signed up with. BranchSite stores your financing details and presents your plans on the public proposal — it does not run the application. Your customer applies on your provider's own site, your provider makes the credit decision, and you collect through your provider's merchant portal.

Before you start

You need an approved merchant relationship with a financing provider, which gives you a merchant ID, an apply link, and one or more approved plans. Until all three are entered, no customer is shown an offer.

Set up financing

  1. Open Settings (under Setup in the sidebar) and choose Financing.
  2. Pick your Financing provider from the list, or choose Other.
  3. Enter the Merchant ID your provider issued after underwriting.
  4. Enter the Apply link — the https address your provider gave you for customers to browse plans and apply. BranchSite opens it in a new tab.
  5. Set the Minimum job value for automatic financing ($) — jobs at or above this total offer financing when their Finance Option is set to Automatic. It must be at least $1,000.
  6. Write the Financing intro text shown to your customer on the public proposal, above the financing options.
  7. Under Financing plans, click Add plan for each approved plan: its Plan ID, a Description, and the Disclosure. Use your provider's exact wording — both are shown to your customer. Mark each plan Active to offer it.
  8. Turn on Offer financing and save.

Control financing per job

Each job has a Finance Option:

  • Automatic — the job offers financing when its total reaches your account minimum.
  • Enabled — the job offers financing regardless of the minimum.
  • Disabled — the job never offers financing.

What your customer sees

On the public proposal, a "Learn more about additional payment options" section shows your intro text and a Learn more button. Clients can browse your Financing options — each plan's description and disclosure — and click Apply, which opens your provider's site in a new tab. Your company never receives their application details.

After the client is approved

  1. When your customer tells you their application was approved, open the job and tick Customer accepted financing. BranchSite records who marked it and when — your provider does not notify BranchSite automatically.
  2. When you're ready to collect, request the charge in your provider's merchant portal.
  3. Record the payment on the invoice. Consider adding a "Financing" payment method under Settings → Payment Methods so financed payments are easy to report on.

Turn financing off

On the Financing settings page, Remove financing clears your merchant ID, apply link, and plans, and turns financing off. Your intro text is kept, but you'll need to re-enter provider details to turn it back on.
