Clock In and Out
Track crew time from My Day: clock in, start and stop work on each stop, clock out, and submit your timesheet.
Time tracking lives on My Day. A typical day is: clock in when the crew starts, start work when you arrive at each stop, stop work when you leave it, clock out at the end of the day, and submit your timesheet for review.
Note: Time tracking requires the Timesheets & Labor feature (Plus and Premier plans). Each person tracking time also needs a labor resource linked to their user account — the Start work button is disabled with a hint if you don't have one. Ask an admin to set that up under Settings.
Clock in
- On My Day, click Clock In — it's in the page header on desktop and in the bottom action bar on your phone.
- Pick the employees clocking in. Crew leads can clock in multiple people at once: type a name in the Add employee… field to add someone, or remove a chip to take them off. Whether you can pick others depends on your role — many crew members can only record their own time.
- Optionally add a Note — for example, why the crew started late.
- Click Clock In.
While you're on the clock, a green chip shows your elapsed time — for example Clocked in 2h 13m — in the top bar on desktop and in the bottom bar on mobile. Hover it to see the clock-in time.
Start and stop work on a stop
Each stop card has its own work timer:
- Tap Start work when you arrive. The Start work on this stop dialog asks Who is working this stop? — confirm the crew, then tap Start work. One time entry starts for each selected person.
- The button switches to Stop work with a live running timer.
- When you finish, tap Stop work. The Stop started work? dialog shows how many entries will stop, and offers:
- Update — save the time and keep the visit open (for example, you're coming back tomorrow).
- Update and complete — save the time, then go straight into completing the visit.
Stopping work stops the open entries for everyone working that stop, not just you.
Clock out
Click Clock Out and confirm the employees. Any work still running on a visit or task is stopped automatically — a toast tells you how many entries were closed. If your company requires it, you must enter a description before clocking out.
Note: If your company turns on GPS capture, your browser asks for your location at Clock In/Out and Start/Stop Work. Declining never blocks the action — the time entry is simply saved without a location.
Submit your timesheet
When you have unsubmitted time, a Submit Timesheet button appears in the My Day header. Click it to see how many pending entries (and how many hours) will be sent, then click Submit. Submitted time goes to your admin's review queue and no longer counts as pending.
If your time is rejected
When a reviewer rejects some of your entries, BranchSite flags it for you:
- A red dot appears on the sun icon in the top bar.
- A message appears when you open My Day, and the affected stops show a Rejected pill.
Talk to your reviewer about the correction — they can fix the entry's time or description, or clear the flag to return it to pending. Once it's back in pending, Submit Timesheet appears again so you can resubmit.
Note: Companies can enable an automatic midnight clock-out as a safety net, so a forgotten Clock Out doesn't run all night. Overnight crews can instead have their open time split at midnight into a fresh entry for the new day.
