End Jobs

Wind down recurring work — end a single series, end an on-demand contract, or batch-end many contracts at once.

Recurring jobs don't finish on their own the way one-off jobs do — you end them. Ending stops new visit generation, deals with the visits already on the calendar, and moves the job toward Completed so it can be approved and billed out.

End a single recurring series

On a recurring job's detail page, the series banner offers End series. The dialog spells out exactly what will happen:

  • Stop new visit generation.
  • Cancel the upcoming visits, with the reason "Series ended."
  • Preserve completed visits as historical record.
  • Mark the job as Completed once any open visits are resolved.

Pick an End date, add an optional Reason, and confirm. Past and in-progress visits are never touched.

If you only need a break — a seasonal shutdown, a billing dispute — use Pause series instead. Pausing halts generation but keeps upcoming visits on the calendar with a pause marker, and Resume series picks the schedule back up. If the pause outlasted the generation horizon, resuming asks whether to skip the missed visits or generate them retroactively on their original dates.

Warning: Ending a series cannot be undone. If the customer comes back next season, use Renew or create a new recurring service — see duplicate, convert, and renew.

End an on-demand contract

On-demand contracts have the same controls on their series banner: End Contract stops materialization and freezes the entitlement bank, leaving the job as a read-only record showing the final consumption ledger. Pause Contract and Resume Contract work the same way as with pattern series.

Batch-end contracts from the Jobs list

When a season closes, you can end many on-demand contracts at once:

  1. On the Jobs page, open the Active tab and select the jobs to end (the selection banner can extend to all jobs matching the current filter).
  2. Click End with your selection count.
  3. In the dialog, choose whether to Stop incomplete visits, set the Stop date, decide Eligible for renewal?, and add an optional Reason.
  4. Confirm. The jobs are ended and moved to Completed.

Batch End applies to active on-demand recurring jobs only. The preview lists any selected jobs that will be skipped and why — Not a recurring job, Not an On-Demand job, on hold, archived, or no permission — and the toast reports how many were ended versus skipped.

The Eligible for renewal? choice matters later: it marks the ended contracts as candidates for Batch Renew, so next season you can recreate the whole book of work in one pass.

Ending by switching cadence

Editing a recurring job and flipping its cadence back to one-off also ends the series — BranchSite confirms first, since every future open visit is cancelled and this cannot be undone.
